Most Of The 47% Come From Red States

September 19, 2012

In yet another case of irony, Romney is likely to win most of the “freeloader” states, while Obama is likely to win most of the “contributor” states.

To be fair, when the data is parsed out as far as possible, it does appear that a majority of the “47%” will indeed vote for Obama. But a majority is not all, and more importantly, Romney expressed contempt for everyone in that group.

It’s true that nationwide, poor people are more likely to vote for Democrats. But in the Bible Belt, poor white Protestants vote overwhelmingly for Republicans. That’s how the GOP continually carries the south even though that’s where incomes are lowest and poverty rates are highest.

I read an article that dived very deep into the data but now I can’t find it.

On an unrelated note, when did Power Line stop taking comments? I haven’t checked in on them for while (can only stand it in small doses spaced months apart).

They’re still taking comments. The Facebook commenting system seems to be buggy. I’ve had problems in the past with comments not loading. Don’t worry, you aren’t missing much!
